Purple Finch Update
The injured female purple finch plus male purple finch feeding together in our window box this weekend. She is doing well and clearly has support. We have been fortunate to provide food for them both.
There is something about finches I do not understand. You have them all summer but we have them only in the spring and fall. Perhaps our summers here in the high desert are too hot and dry. In any case, our two bird houses have been busy producing clutch after clutch of sparrows, which, with our feeding stations, have prospered.

How do you keep the grackles away? Or maybe you don't have any...I had to take my window feeder down b/c teh grackles were wrecking it.
