I'm editing my Matthew and Mark sections today and this is the illustration for Matthew from Cawston, Norfolk.
From The Teachings of Silvanus: "Do not be a sausage which is full of useless things."
Edited by Canon Andrew Wright. To be published in July 2025 https://www.churchpublishing.org/planningforritesandritualsyeara

Sounds a lot more fun that the editing I'm doing and the paiting is wonderful.
Good luck - and thanks too for Elizabeth Jennings it encouraged me to take down her poetry and dust off some old favourite.
I've loved that depiction since you first showed it to me. What's the fuller context of the image?
Its a 15th C rood screen at St Agnes, Cawston, Norfolk. The screen contains paintings of the 12 apostles, Jerome, Augustine, Ambrose and Gregory.
Oooh, I bet the other paintings are wonderful, too.
