Summer Projects
How does your day begin? Water? Tea? Coffee? In the best of all worlds, mine begins with a latte not quite as fancy as this (Artwork on latte courtesy of people at Grumpys in Chelsea).
Summer writing projects include an essay on Jack Bauer as a Jesus figure in "24" for a collection of essays on the series "24." I'm enjoying the challenge of thinking obliquely about religious imagery.

That latte looks really good!
Crumbs, can't wait to see what you (and others) say about '24'. My former townmate Ben Marshall - looking broodily Brighton-cool in his profile, I see - has this for the Guardian: "I don't think I would be exaggerating too much if I were to describe the show's creators, Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, as this century's equivalent to the work of Leni Riefenstahl. The fact that 24 is bloody good telly just makes matters worse." Meanwhile, less earnestly, the inimitable Charlie Brooker, in contesting that last bit, has some, er, "creative suggestions" for making the show sublimely awful rather than just grindingly bad. [Parental Advisory sticker for this link]. All of which leaves the religious imagery territory totally clear for you. ;)
PS. Latte - yay!
